Hi there, I’m Lena Marlowe, and if there’s one thing I’ve learned in my 41 years on this beautiful, messy journey called life, it’s that food has a way of speaking straight to the heart—without saying a word.

I was born and raised in Savannah, Georgia, in a house that always smelled like something baking or simmering. My grandmother, God rest her sweet soul, taught me how to make biscuits so flaky they’d make you tear up, and my mother—who still runs the church potluck circuit—believed a proper meal could heal just about anything. I think she’s right.

I didn’t go to culinary school. I went to the school of sticky counters, burned casseroles, and joyful Sunday mornings in a worn-out robe with flour on my cheeks. I’ve worked as a waitress, a café manager, and even ran a tiny pie stand at the farmers’ market. But my real education came from cooking for the people I love—my kids, my husband, my sister crew, and all the lovely souls who’ve followed my recipes online over the years.

I started sharing my kitchen experiments during the lockdown of 2020, honestly just trying to bring a little comfort to folks who were stuck at home. I thought maybe ten people would care. I had no idea how many of us were hungry—not just for food, but for connection, for warmth, for the kind of magic that happens when someone says, “You made this yourself?!”

That’s what I live for—the everyday magic.

I’m not here to impress Michelin-star judges. I’m here for the moms juggling dinner between homework and bedtime, for the single women treating themselves to a cozy solo brunch, for the grandmothers teaching their grandkids how to stir, and for anyone who’s ever whispered, “I don’t really know how to cook,” but wants to learn.

I believe in failures that turn into new favorites, in store-bought shortcuts when time is tight, and in setting the table even if it’s just for one. I believe in using butter without guilt and in pouring a little wine for the sauce—and a little for yourself.

You’ll find my food is seasonal, soulful, and mostly simple. Sometimes Southern with a twist, sometimes inspired by faraway flavors I’ve never even tried until a week ago. I like to say I cook with curiosity and love in equal measure.

If you’re looking for perfection, you’re in the wrong kitchen. But if you’re looking for a friend to guide you, cheer you on, and maybe make you laugh while the cookies burn just a little at the edges—then pour yourself a coffee and stay a while.

You’re always welcome here.

Love,
Lena 🥣✨
